Once you have burned your CD, you can then rebuild your system.  Once
the OS (and Office if you use it) are installed, login as an
administrator and pop the CD in.  It should autorun and present you
with several options (do you want to backup old files, ....).  When
you hit the Start button your PC will then be patched from its
current state up to the date you ran Offline Update.  It does not
matter if you start from the original Windows XP, or from Windows XP
SP2.  Offline Update figures out what patches you need and applies
them.  WoW!
