Questions about Offline Update 4.64 23 January 2008 20:42
Hello,
Firstly - love this utility and the flexibility it brings.
Secondly - some questions that I need answered:
1. On a fresh unpack of version 4.64 - let's say I do a Windows XP
update on Jan 15...create the iso and all is well. Can I simply fire
up the UpdateGenerator.exe on Feb 15 (assuming new Windows Updates
are available)and CT will go and get just what is new and create a
new iso. Basically - can I install this thing once and then run it
whenever I need to and get a fresh updated CD each time?
2. After I applied a current Offline update (created after Jan 2008
Patch Tuesday) to a clean install of Win XP SP2 - I noticed about 7
or 8 High Priority updates were still available when visiting the
Windows Update site. Is this normal? Why am I seeing anything at all
on Windows Update if the Offline presumably is getting all high
priority items and placing them into my iso? If these items are being
excluded on purpose - can I see where that is located or logged
within Offline Update?
Cheers!
