Open-Xchange becomes a member of the Eclipse-Foundation

Groupware specialist Open-Xchange has joined the Eclipse Foundation. The company recently placed the server components of its eponymous e-mail and collaboration software under GPLv2. Open-Xchange is presented as an open source alternative to Microsoft Exchange. Outlook clients can access their mailboxes using OXtender, which the company offers for a fee. The Open-Xchange server is based on Eclipse Equinox, which just this week acquired top level project status as the Eclipse Runtime Project (Eclipse RT).
