Google Apps gets teamed up

Google has launched another variation on its Apps service aimed at making collaboration across an organisation simple. Google Apps Team Edition was announced on Tuesday, and allows users from the same domain to start sharing documents immediately after registering. The service can also be customised to match an organisation's branding.

At its most basic Team Edition automatically shares documents with anyone who registers with an email address in the same domain. Administrators can go further than this and control which users get access to which applications, and whether documents can be shared with people outside the organisation. To become an administrator of a domain, you need the ability to publish an HTML document on the domain's web site, or change its DNS records.
