It all began with DOS, which Bill Gates programmed single-handedly
in his garage. Even if it doesn't seem very user-friendy today, it
was revolutionary in its time.

The poorly hacked together CP/M could not keep up with it of course,
and so Digital Research began to plagiaritize MS-DOS. When they
weren't able to make their "DR-DOS" fully compatible, they sued
Microsoft to castrate MS-DOS, like the EU plans to do with Vista.

For a long time, computer users were happy and completely satisfied
with the good MS-DOS, but many unexperienced newbies had problems
finding their way with the professional operating system. Then Bill
Gates had an inspiration! A graphical user interface with windows
and menus, which everyone could use intuitively. He even invented
a new input device for his interface, and called it "mouse". And
again, the competitors - i.e. Apple - tried without success to
copy this product. Well, at least they managed to get about 1
percent market share in the last 22 years...

As the number of computers grew at the beginning of the 90s, Gates
thought about new ways to use them. He had the idea of connecting
many computers via cable, so that one could transfer files without
floppies. So he got working on the problem with a small team of
highly qualified developers and developed the still excellent
Windows for Workgroups.

Shortly after that, he had an even bigger vision. He wanted to
network computers all over the world and invented for this purpose
the so-called "Internet" (originally Microsoft Network).

At about this time, a Finnish student who was constantly
indoctrinated with communist ideology by his parents got the idea
to write a new DOS clone which could be used and even modified by
anyone free of charge.

Even when Linsux Trollward stole the intellectual property of
Microsoft for this purpose and had the audacity to spread his
software over the Internet invented by Microsoft, the sympathetic
word market leader remained calm.

Because HE doesn't need to kick competitors out of business
with lawsuits, but relies entirely on the success of his highly
professional quality software on the free market. With success.

In the following years, Windows was constantly improved, just
remember milestones like Windows 95 or ME. And the whole world
was always awaiting the next stroke of genius of the Redmond
software empire!!!111
